What is Werkara?
Werkara is not an app — it is a Swiss platform, made up of a website and an app, that connects people who need everyday help (cleaning, repairs, moving, pet care and more) with local taskers. You post a task, taskers contact you, and you choose who does it.
How much does Werkara cost?
Posting a task is free. You agree the price directly with your tasker and pay them directly — Werkara adds nothing on top for you. Taskers pay Werkara a 9 % fee from 1 November 2026 (0 % until then); there are no hidden costs for clients.
Who are the taskers?
Taskers are verified self-employed people and small businesses in Switzerland. Every tasker passes an identity check before taking their first task.
Where is Werkara available?
Werkara is available all over Switzerland. The platform is available in German, French, Italian and English.
How do I pay my tasker?
You pay the price you agreed directly to your tasker after the work is done. The payment terms are confirmed between you before the task starts.
What does a cleaner or a handyman cost in Switzerland?
You agree the price directly with your tasker — Werkara adds nothing on top. As a guide, usual rates in Switzerland are around CHF 30–40 an hour for cleaning and household help, CHF 40–60 for furniture assembly and small repairs, CHF 35–50 for garden maintenance, CHF 25–35 per walk for dog sitting and CHF 30–50 for tutoring. These are examples and guide values, not a Werkara tariff — for any other task you agree the price just as directly. Rates are higher in Zurich, Zug and Geneva than in rural areas.
How quickly will I get offers?
Your task goes to taskers near you immediately. How fast the first offer arrives depends on your region and the task — usually faster in Zurich, Basel and Bern than in smaller places. Werkara launched in 2026 and in some regions only a few taskers are active so far. Post your task anyway: if no offer comes in, we will contact you as soon as someone is available.
Are the taskers verified and insured?
Every tasker goes through an identity check before their first task, and every completed task earns a public review — you see both on the profile before you decide. Taskers are independent providers responsible for their own insurance; Werkara is not an insurer. For larger jobs it is worth asking the tasker directly about business liability cover.
What makes Werkara different from other platforms?
Three things: you agree the price directly with your tasker, and Werkara adds nothing on top for you. There is no lead fee — taskers do not pay just to see your request. And Werkara is not limited to one field: from cleaning through assembly and moving to tutoring and tech help, you will find people here for almost any everyday task.
Which cities is Werkara available in?
Werkara works all over Switzerland — in every canton and language region. There are tasks in Zurich, Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Winterthur and Lugano just as there are in smaller places. Since we launched in 2026, the number of active taskers varies by region.
