Safety on Werkara — explained honestly.
Werkara is a marketplace: you agree the task, price and date directly with the tasker. We confirm every tasker’s e-mail and phone number and review every profile by hand before it goes live. We do not currently check ID documents or criminal records, and Werkara does not insure tasks. Here is exactly what that means for you — and how to protect yourself in five minutes.
What Werkara checks
E-mail and phone number
Every tasker confirms both with a code. Behind every profile is a person you can reach.
Every profile, by hand
Our team reviews new profiles and listings before they go live. Incomplete or suspicious profiles are not published.
Certificates, where available
Taskers can upload diplomas and certificates; they appear on the profile. For important work: ask to see the original.
Reviews
After a task you can review the tasker. Reviews and completed tasks are shown on the profile.
What Werkara does not check (yet)
No ID and no criminal record extract
If we introduce this, you will read it on this page first.
No insurance
Werkara is not the taskers’ employer and does not insure tasks. Taskers work self-employed or on the side and are responsible for their own insurance.
No money-back guarantee
You pay the price directly to the tasker. Werkara does not hold any money.
Why we say this openly: better honest than a “verified” badge that promises more than it delivers.
Before you book: 6 questions for the tasker
Price and scope in writing
How much, and what is included (materials, travel, disposal)? Keep it in the chat.
Liability insurance?
Especially for furniture assembly, moving and cleaning with a key handover.
Electricity, gas, water?
Work on fixed installations belongs to a licensed professional — not to a side job.
Children or older people?
Ask for a special criminal record extract (Sonderprivatauszug). It is issued for work with children and vulnerable people (Federal Office of Justice).
Look at the profile
Reviews, completed tasks, certificates. New profile without reviews? Start with a small task.
Keys and access
Hand them over in person, never with the address on the key ring.
If something goes wrong
The tasker does not show up
Write in the chat. No answer? Report it to support@werkara.ch. You have paid nothing in advance — simply post the task again.
Something is damaged
Take photos, note it in the chat, sort it out with the tasker. Damage caused by the tasker is covered by their liability insurance, if they have one. Werkara is not a party to the agreement, but on request sends you the contact details and the chat history.
Something feels wrong
Stop and report the profile to support@werkara.ch. We review every report and can block profiles.
Payment
For clients
Werkara costs you nothing. You pay the agreed price directly to the tasker, however you arrange it together.
For taskers
9 % of the task amount to Werkara, only after the task is completed, by TWINT or card.
Beware of scams
Werkara never asks clients for advance payment and never asks for bank or card details by SMS or WhatsApp.
