What is Werkara for taskers?

What about services that need special permits or certification?
Some services in Switzerland are regulated — electrical and gas work, transporting people, childcare, security and other fields that require a licence, certification or special conditions. Werkara fully complies with Swiss law — and we expect the same from you: offer these services only if you hold the required qualifications. You can add your certificates, licences and other documents directly to your profile. It’s not just about the rules — a verified qualification on your profile builds trust and wins you more tasks.
What does it cost me to join?
Nothing until the end of October 2026: registering, creating your profile, receiving tasks and sending offers are free, and Werkara takes no fee. From 1 November 2026 the fee is 9 % of the task amount — always shown before you accept a task.
How do I receive tasks?
Imagine starting your working day with a list of fresh tasks already waiting for you. Clients nearby post tasks, and when one matches your skills and area you’re notified wherever it suits you — in the app, on the website, by WhatsApp or by email. See one you like? Send your offer and agree the details directly in chat.
How do I get paid?
Directly by your client, at the price you agreed together, when the work is done. No waiting for payouts, no middleman — Werkara never stands between you and your money.
Do I need to be a registered company?
No. Solo freelancer, self-employed, side-hustler or small business — you’re welcome as you are. You stay independent, and like any independent work, your taxes and insurance remain your own.
Where is Werkara available?
All over Switzerland — wherever you are, there are tasks nearby. And Werkara speaks your language: German, French, Italian and English.
Can I do this while studying?
Yes. There is no minimum number of tasks and no fixed hours — you only accept what fits your timetable, including weekends or semester breaks only. Tutoring, moving help, dog sitting and household help work particularly well as student jobs.
Do I need to speak German or French?
Not to start. Much of the coordination is written and the chat translates, and in Zurich, Zug, Geneva and Basel a large share of clients are international and write in English. A few words of your region’s language will still widen the number of tasks you can take.
How quickly will I get my first task?
It depends on your region and on what you offer. Werkara is active all over Switzerland — in cities such as Zurich, Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucerne and St. Gallen new tasks usually appear faster than in smaller places. A complete profile with a photo, a clear description and a finished verification gets asked far more often; as soon as a matching task appears in your area you are notified and can send an offer straight away.
