Why freelance with Werkara

Tasks come to you

New tasks from real clients near you — no cold calls, no chasing leads.

Currently no commission

We take no commission at the start of the project — and any fee is always shown before you commit.

Work on your terms

Choose your tasks, set your own prices, decide when and where you work.

Every skill welcome

From repairs and moving to pet care and tutoring — if you can do it, offer it, anywhere in Switzerland.

Certifications & qualifications

For most everyday tasks you don't need a formal certificate — your experience and your reviews speak for you. Where qualifications matter, they make your profile stronger:

Show what you've earned

Add your diplomas, licences and course certificates to your profile — clients see them before they choose you.

Regulated work stays regulated

Tasks that legally require a licence in Switzerland (for example electrical or gas installations) may only be taken by providers holding the relevant qualification.

Verified from day one

Every freelancer passes an identity check before taking their first task — that's what makes a Werkara profile worth something.

How does it work?

From registration to your first paid task in three steps:

What about the money?

Posting a task is free for clients. You agree the price directly with your client and are paid directly — Werkara adds nothing on top for clients. For taskers, Werkara is currently free as well — right now we charge no service fee at all. In the future we plan to introduce a small service fee: as a small, AI-driven company we keep our costs low, so it will be around 5–10% — well below what most platforms charge. Any fee will always be shown clearly before you commit to a task. Taskers are independent providers and are responsible for their own taxes and insurance.

A young startup with a simple goal.

Werkara is a young Swiss startup. We're building this platform to give freelancers more access and more opportunities — because when good work is easier to find, everyone wins, and Switzerland gets a little better every day. That's also why we don't charge a commission at the beginning of a project: getting started should cost you nothing.

Privacy & taxes in Switzerland

You work as an independent

On Werkara you act as a self-employed provider. Income from your tasks is taxable, and you remain responsible for declaring it — as with any independent work in Switzerland.

AHV & social security

Regular self-employed activity should be registered with your cantonal compensation office (AHV/AVS). If freelancing is your side income, check the thresholds that apply to you.

Your data stays yours

Your profile shows what clients need to choose you — your skills, area and reviews. Personal documents from verification are never public. Details in our Privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

What is Werkara for taskers?

Your next client is probably a few streets away. Werkara is a Swiss app that brings you paid everyday tasks — repairs, moving, gardening, pet care, tutoring and more. Create a profile, pick the tasks that fit your skills and your schedule, and deal directly with your clients. Side income or a full calendar — you decide.

What about services that need special permits or certification?

Some services in Switzerland are regulated — electrical and gas work, transporting people, childcare, security and other fields that require a licence, certification or special conditions. Werkara fully complies with Swiss law — and we expect the same from you: offer these services only if you hold the required qualifications. You can add your certificates, licences and other documents directly to your profile. It’s not just about the rules — a verified qualification on your profile builds trust and wins you more tasks.

What does it cost me to join?

Right now — nothing. Registration is free, your profile is free, and currently we charge taskers no service fee at all. Later we’ll introduce a small fee — as a small, AI-driven company we keep our costs low, so it will be around 5–10%, well below what most platforms take. And you’ll always see the exact details before you take a task.

How do I receive tasks?

Imagine starting your working day with a list of fresh tasks already waiting for you. Clients nearby post tasks, and when one matches your skills and area you’re notified wherever it suits you — in the app, on the website, by WhatsApp or by email. See one you like? Send your offer and agree the details directly in chat.

How do I get paid?

Directly by your client, at the price you agreed together, when the work is done. No waiting for payouts, no middleman — Werkara never stands between you and your money.

Do I need to be a registered company?

No. Solo freelancer, self-employed, side-hustler or small business — you’re welcome as you are. You stay independent, and like any independent work, your taxes and insurance remain your own.

Where is Werkara available?

All over Switzerland — wherever you are, there are tasks nearby. And Werkara speaks your language: German, French, Italian and English.
